Need to interview an RN

Published

I'm currently attending MJC and I'm taking an indroduction to nursing.. I have a few question I'd like to ask an RN for an assignment. I would prefer to talk to a local RN if there is any. It could be done via email. so if you leave your email I'd get back to you. Thank you.

A local RN would be best for your project. Even better is talking in person to someone. I would recommend contacting hospitals, clinics and other places locally where nurses might be able to accommodate you, rather than looking online.

Plus this is an anonymous forum that is highly indexed and read around the world, posting your email address is asking to be contacted by spammers, scammers and other unwanted. How are going to ensure that you are speaking with an actual licensed, registered nurse and not some random individual?

Most interviews are to prepare you for patient contact and going out of your comfort zone.

Standard answer, since this gets asked at least a couple times/week, is that the purpose of these assignments is for you to go out (perhaps breaking your comfort zone, perhaps not--I don't care...) and speak with a nurse face-to-face, NOT to post a list of questions on the internet where any schmuck with non-verifiable credentials can answer. Folks on here will generally help if you can show you've put some effort out but we're not going to do your homework for you.

Welcome!

OP....we are happy to help but the purpose of these assignments is to get the student out of their comfort zone. The interview is an essential skill that a nurse needs to possess. Every day we interview complete strangers and ask them the most personal questions in an effort to take the best care possible during their hospital stay. The interview is an important skill that must be learned like any other nursing skill. I believe it is the MOST important skill for obtaining information about our patients establishing trust and sifting through the information and non verbal clues is the best way to care for our patients. This takes practice and that practice cannot be in the internet.

Many of us here are educators an KNOW that the intention of this assignment is to get the student out of their comfort zone. You have had this assignment since August 18th for this assignment. You will get out of nursing only what you put into it.

You can go to your local high school, health department, elder services, flu clinic, CVS minute clinic, Red Cross blood drive or call to see them and set up a time....these all have nurses pesent so with a litle leg work you should be able to find a willing person to interview face to face.

I know that you may be used to social media but it is important that you remember your safety. Allnurses is an anonymous site but it is viewed by the public. You should consider not placing personal information out there for the general public and spam bots to gain access to your private information.
