I am an LVN with one year experience in the Skilled Nursing setting. I wanted to know some information about the duties for an LVN @ a state run prison? What is the interviewing process like? Is there a polygraph test? Any information will be helpful, i am very excited about it. My interview is at R.J Donovan State Prison in Southern California.

Really depends on your state, I worked in the Tx system. LVNs were given a great amount of autonomy and responsibility. From med pass to sole responder at an emergency, conducting Nurse sick call (assessment and treatment based on an accepted and approved treatment protocol). California is going to be different as I believe you are also cross trained as a correctional officer..we weren't and that was fine with me, had enough to do. Good luck, it's a great job if you like it and have the nack.
