I work at Forsyth Hospital in the NICU. The company is overall a good company to work for. The Neuro- ICU unit is relatively new, opened less than 2 years ago (Ithink). We have had so much construction, it's hard to remember what opened when. Winston Salem is a nice area to live and work. Welcome aboard!
The Winston-Salem area is a great place to live and work. Either hospital is an excellent choice as they are outstanding medical centers. I am finishing my clinical rotations at both of them (ADN), and have found excellent nurses at either hospital. The hospitals are certainally state of the art facilities.
The taxes in Forsyth county are higher than surrounding areas, so when you get ready to buy a home, look into the tax situation. There are many churches to choose from. Shopping and eateries are in abundance. If you don't like the weather one week, stick around the net week may be totally different.
Hello, I am planning to move to winston salem next year and hoping to go to wake forest university baptist medical center. Umm.. is it a nice hospital? what are the pros and cons? and how much is the average salary? and um.. I'm kinda new in the US as well, so is there any particular area in winston salem that I have to be careful about? coz right now I live in miami and man, its kinda scary here..
Experience, and years of practice determines what one's salary will be. I haven't worked there to quote a salary. Try calling the Human Resource Dept. for pay and benefits. Maybe someone more knowledgable will respond to this question. I would suggest renting out of the city, until you find out what area suits yourself. Good luck on your job hunt and relocation.

this is what they offered me as a new grad. expereince/agency should pay much more. don't know about hospital housing situation, but most small apartments are ~$700-$900 per month. but there is a large home market in the area also.
Glad to hear that you are coming to Winston Salem. I will be working at the other Winston Salem hospital, but I did some clinicals at "your" hospital. The hospital is modern, up to date and an all round good place to work. There are several cities around Winston Salem and the area is called "The Triad" because of Greensboro, High Point and Winston Salem. We are located in the western piedmont of North Carolina. You can get to the mountains in less than 2 hours and to the Atlantic coast in around 4 hours. The weather is wonderful. We have 4 seasons to our year. Late summer is pretty muggy, but that is why we have air conditioning. Check out the town of Kernersville as a great place to live. It's about 20 miuntes from the hospital and very friendly. I wish you the best & hope that you like it here as much as I do.
