Need help...Vendor Management companies in San Diego

Published

Does anyone know if the hospitals in San Diego use a particular agency or vendor management company? Or if you can tell me any particular agencies you have used recently? I do NICU/PICU. I would like to work at UCSD nicu or at Rady, But as I am desperate to be close to my son in the Navy there in San Diego till he leaves for japan in August.

Thanks

Lots of agencies can place you in San Diego. The largest agency in the country, American Mobile, is based there and I would expect good coverage by them. Perhaps not the best pay though.

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

When you say not the best pay, Ned ... is it at least $40/hr? If so, that's still not bad (although I know it can be at least $7 better in the north).

Larger agencies have higher costs than smaller agencies and so in general pay less. There is no way I could extrapolate that truism to a particular pay rate. What I said was "perhaps" not the best pay rate based on that truism.

$40 am hour doesn't have much meaning by itself, but if you meant $40 plus housing, per diem, and travel, then no, very unlikely in that market for NICU.
