Nursing Students NCLEX

Today I found out that I didn't pass the nclex-rn for the third time! I have studied and answered thousands of questions for each test and still didn't pass. If anybody can help me with advice or anything of that nature it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site! Can you tell us more about your situation? What did you use to prepare for the exam? Are there weaknesses you've identified from your previous score reports?

Try the sticky above from Suzanne4. I have been told that it is one of the best reviews out there.

hang in there. u arent alone on this ordeal. i am with you and so as many people here who are still hopeful that one day we will be able to defeat the nclex monster. take a deep breath and slowly start again. it is difficult since until now i still find it difficult to focus. we may sometimes ask what have we done wrong? did i review correctly? what are the other means of reviewing, new strategies... i am doing Suzanne's plan at the moment. it is free. all you need is the saunders review book 3rd ed.

best of luck to all of us! we are here to listen and give peices of advice whenever u need us...

I was told when reveiwing for the NYCLEX as a LPN not to use too many different books. I use Lipincotts RN review book and some other book about 3,000 questions, and my notes I had taken in class. Its not about studying to remember those answers, its about knowing how to take apart the question and know EXACTLY what its asking you. The main three things I used while taking the test are knowing how to interpt the question, Maslow needs, ADPIE(assesment, DX,planning, implementation, and Evaluation). From my experience ther is no true way to study for it. you just have to know your stuff. Don't get dicouraged by the number of questions and the myth that goes along with it. I sat there and fell asleep and completed 86 question in 2 hr and it cut me off, and I passed the first time. I know others who sat there for four hours with 300 plus questin who passed and some who failed when it cut them off at 85. Good luck, no I mean God Bless you on your next attempt. get a good night rest and don't study too much because you then start second guessing yourself. One last thing to remember there are two definate wrong answers and one definate right and the other is a possible right, so learn out to narrow it down to those two and make the best possible discission from there.

When I studied for the nclex I answered questions online from a test bank created by Davis called review for nurses P.A.S.S. It was setup similar to the nclex and it gave rationales and a percentage to how I did in the different subtopics. The times before I took it last I studied from an nclex book (Davis's nclex-rn success) and notes from school. My first two times I went the full 265 questions failed and the performance report came back exactly the same. Now this last time I went to 75 questions computer cut me off and I didn't pass again and my performance report was flipped flopped from the last two times. That's why I'm confused and don't know where to start again. Thank you all for responding to my cries of help, I appreciate the advice. Any more would be great.
