Need Help for School

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I need to interview a nurse for a class paper. It's supposed to be an in-person interview, but I went to a hospital today and got just what I thought -- everyone is too busy and no one wants to make a future appointment (because they're too busy!). So I would like to 'interview' all of you.

I've been here long enough that you've all burst my balloons about nursing school AND nursing (AND I still am going forward). and I could probably answer the questions myself. But I want to show my professor YOUR answers.

I would prefer RNs (new and experienced) from the US who are working in a hospital 8 or 12-hour shifts on a med/surg floor. In lieu of that, I'll take you, wherever you work, and be most grateful. You can answer all of the questions or you can choose one and answer just that one. Hopefully, I'll get all of them answered.

1. What are your duties?

2. How would you describe your work setting?

3. Why did you decide to get into nursing and what steps did you take to enter the occupation?

4. What important qualities would someone need to have to be in nursing and why?

5. If you had the chance to do it all over again, would you make the same carrer choice and why?

6. What advice would you give someone wanting to enter this field?

Thanks!
