Need help please...FCCA (General question not about content)

Published

Hey guys. So I am registered for both FCCA thinking I can do both at the same time since many people do. I decided on using the mystudygroup101 guides for this. When you go and pay for the study guides on mystudygroup101's website, it says actual study guide is 165 pages for Head to Toe assessment and 182 for managing multiple patients. I am looking through it and seeing close to 600 pages on head to toe and another 400 pages on managing multiple patients. I tried looking through to distinguish between the actual study guide and extra content with no luck.

How did any of you guys who used mystudygroup101 study and use it? I am so confused and need help as the course already started.

A lot of SG101's guides are multiple choice questions. So the first hundred or two of the guide is actual studying resource and the rest is questions. Also they put in a guide for the CPNE in it also so the study guide will be over 1000 pages long.

go by the table of contents it tells you what pages are what or you can email them and ask

I didn't use it for the FCCA but others have said the SG101 isn't helpful. From personal experience I found the module exams and practice problems to be the most helpful. All of this is essentially review on stuff you already tested on. Just remember to answer exactly what the question asks don't overthink things it is testing to an entry level RN knowledge base.

All the recentt facebook posts I'm reading are saying they only used studygroup 101 to pass but I've also read that it is all the same stuff that you cover in the other exams just nclex questions. Not there yet but i like to plan ahead

I can only speak from personal experience but ive also read accounts where people have praised the SG101 and then others where they swear it was a waste of money. Honestly in the end it's 18 bucks for the SG101 so if you download it and decide it's not for you there's not too big of a loss.

I have been using SG101 to study along with Sauders RN-NCLEX Comprehensive Review (because I don't feel like printing the 300+ pages of SG101 practice questions). I haven't had any issues using SG101 (used it for Micro, A&P and ALL the nursing courses/exams). Just as MoleMedic said, you really have to pay attention to what the questions are asking, no over-thinking (which is hard to do). The questions are RN entry-level based. The FCCA "puts everything together".
