need help for nursing home interview?

Published

Hi there !

I am new grad LPN looking for nursing home job. Can someone help me by giving some nursing home interview questions? What kind of questions do I expect during interview? Or do you recommend any book that related to elderly for my interview. I would really appreciate for your help ? Thanks! Please reply me :angryfire

I just passed my nclex in January and started in a LTC in February. I don't remember the specific questions from my interview but here is a couple of ideas that might help you out. You might be asked about how you would handle different situations when residents have behaviors related to dementia; how you would work with CNA's when they aren't doing their job and how you would get them back on task. I'm sure they will ask you about long term goals. Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!!!

I have worked at several nursing homes.

In my area, the interviewer typically doesn't ask too many questions of the applicant because they don't want to make you feel too uncomfortable. These places are desperate for staff in my area, so the usual question consists of, "When can you start?"

If they can get an articulate warm body in the building who has a license and a pulse, they will usually try to hire you.
