Need help with Kaplan on Demand

Published

Hi AN! I am fairly new in this forum, I would like to seek you advice, inputs anything that could help me with regards to my review.

A little background: I graduated batch 2005 from the Philippines,( So basically I am 9 years off nursing school plus the fact that I am an Foreign grad )took the CGFNS, passed it, was planning to take the nclex that same year but because of the retrogression I changed my plans. As of the moment I am here in Singapore, worked here as a nurse. For the past few months I have been reviewing for the NCLEX, I have Hurst, And Saunders as well. I recently signed up for Kaplan on Demand, very expensive I may say. I have tried the Diagnostic exam which gave me a score of 69% BUT when I tried to take a sample test with the Q bank I got around 53%. The questions with Kaplan are really damn hard! I have watched some of the video on demand lectures including the decision tree video but i am having a hard time understanding it and applying it when i answer the questions. I really want to pass this exam the first time but I dont know what to do or where to start. I have scheduled my exam june 10th. I know i still have plenty of time but i am really having quite a hard time. I hope some of you here can help or guide me. Thanks a lot!! Godbless!!!

Im also from the philippines and im reviewing nclex as well and im enrolled in kaplan on demand too. wen I was starting also I really had a hardtime understanding it but as u go along youll be fine.. just keep on believing your self....

Hi! Glad to hear from you! I wonder how did you utilize the on demand review?did you read the book first and follow along the videos?i tried doing that but they speak so fast i cant catch up with what they are discussing..when is ur exam date if i may ask?

Just do practice tests everyday..100 questions at least per day...u still have plenty of time..read the rationales in each questions..Saunders us a good book 5th edition..Also try to answer the CD it has 4400 questions and the 200 SATA...Also so the PDA of Lacharity...Also the Maslow..ABC and nursing process..know it by heart..you have the knowledge already the thing is how to apply it...FAITH & PRAYERS + Knowledge + good test taking straTEGY will help you to the top..Also infection control..The mode of transmission of every dse...and the prioritization...Actually my wife graduated 2 yrs ago..she just answered questions..and she did it...anyways we all have different styles yet the common ground is still knowledge
