Need help finding resources...

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Hi all - these is a great website! I am hoping someone can give me advice on where I might be able to find online resources that will help me to learn basic stuff. I just started the pn program at the college of southern idaho - and honestly feel like I am in a do-it-yourself nursing course. They have so many students and not enough teachers and classrooms - it is extremely difficult to learn. For example: the other day we learned hygiene - our 'lecture' consisted of a few things from Mosby's Fundamentals and a short instructional video. That's it! Is that abnormal or am I just slow on the uptake???

Anyway - the school has these videos (assessment, would care, etc, etc) but we can only view them there and that is no easy task. I feel as though if I could see the videos a few times (not just once) it would help me so much!

Any ideas? I thought maybe there would be some video files that I could view online - but I have searched for days and have had no luck...

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks so much

The Saunders comprehensive review for NCLEX-PN book might help put things in perspective for you. There are study outlines and quizes.

You just need to relax. This is only the first week. I know this is easier said then done. I do not know of anything on the web to help video wise. Just study the heck out of your textbook. It will all come together when you go to clinical.

Maybe you can work as a nursing assistant or at a hospital to give you some experience. Let me know if I could help anymore.

Good luck with school!

WELCOME !! nice to have you here !

OMG, I just realized that you are Marie too.. cool.

Nurse-K-Bear give some really good advice, I would definately check out the NCLEX-PN, these are the kinds of questions that you will be asked.

Maybe your program seems a bit unorganized right now, they might be adjusting to all the students, I hope things get better, hang in there.

Good Luck and don't be afraid to post or ask questions.
