Need help on Final!!!!!!!

Published

Hi. I am in a hospital based program and I am in desperate need of help to pass my final in one week from tomorrow. Any help is greatly appreciated. If any nurses and other students can off support and help in understanding how to study better I would be so happy. I have no one to talk to too, we don't have a library or any tutors available in this area. Please HELP!!!!

I hate to say it, but starting earlier would have helped. Moving forward, what kind of final is it? How do you study? As in everything else in nursing, making a plan helps. Then do it! You will have achieved something if you follow your plan, and systematic study always helps me to succeed.

Do you have textbooks or notes from class? Most textbooks are really good at either highlighting or placing in bold print the part they want to emphasize. Are your exams NCLEX style? Practice the NCLEX questions at the end of your chapters -- if you have them. Trying to remember everything is not a good tactic. Knowing the RN scope of practice and what your priorities are will get you through a lot of the questions. Our instructors are kind enough to emphasize what we need to know during lectures and I highlight those parts of my notes.

well, here is how i usually study for my final...because of the act that we have comprehensive finals. I look back at my tests and see where my weakest areas were and i hit those the hardest. we have about 8 tests over different areas. the bigger tests that we have had, the more questions we have on them. the tests i did really good on, i still study those but not as much as the weaker areas. NCLEX questions, study notes etc.

on a side note: has anyone heard of/used PrepU? it is really good! it works like the NCLEX in that each question you get right gets harder and harder until u miss one...it measures ur level of mastery...i really like it

Study your ass off. I spent all weekend studying my butt off while my family put up the Christmas tree without me but got a B on my final and it was so worth it! Good luck to you!

Read it, think about it, write it. That is how I can learn best. I make a ton of notes on what I do that with. When I review for a test, I remember how I thought about it. I have tried other ways and didn't do as well. You have to figure out how YOU learn best.
