When I last put together a resume cover letters weren't necessary. Now they're recommended. What goes in a cover letter? Can someone give me any examples? I can't find any examples anywhere.

I wouldn't use quickly that much in one paragraph :). You could say I learned to be decisive and adaptable vs. using quickly as your adverb.

The challenge, for me, isn't to find cover letters, but to find the letter that is right for the person requesting it. There are usually books full of cover letter instructions and examples in your local library. My local library is the Internet Public Library at ipl.org. There, you can click on "business" on the left hand tool bar, and you might see "200 Letters for Job Hunters" excerpts.
There aren't many actual example letters on ipl, but Jussurfin found those on Google. Maybe TazziRN's question isn't where examples of cover letters are, but more like how can she write a cover letter that is right for finding a job she would enjoy. Maybe Learn2 Write a Cover Letter at http://www.tutorials.com/08/0837/0837.asp is a better start?
A commercial site is http://careerlab.com/letters/default.htm. Not too much there for free, but possibly worth a look.
Good luck, TazziRN. I hope you find what you're looking for.
