once a nurse passes nclex, they never need to take it again unless not actively practicing for 5 yrs in some states.
from va board of nursing:
license registration
I am not a nurse- but do work at a larg hospital in Va. My best advice is to call the human resources department of a hospital to ask what you would need. I think that they would be very helpful- if they don't know, they will be able to refer you to someone that know's the proper info. Hospitals are breaking there backs to recruit nurses. I bet they would offer to help pay for some of your credentials if you agree to work for them- you never know!
Hi! I am also a nurse from the Philippines and I just arrived here in the US last April...Yes, you have to take the NCLEX-RN before you can become an RN here...you may go to the website to search for the board of nursing you wish to be licensed with...by the way, are you a CGFNS passer? 'coz some states do not recognized non-CGFNS nurses others do..like California
God bless!!!

What does VA require for foriegn students to become a RN?
Also.. is the NCLEX exam specific to each state? Do I have to take the NCLEX again if I decide to move to another state? Thank you.
