  1. Hi, I am applying to CA board. I am going to united states on K1 Fiance Visa and will have green card. I just want to make sure, you do not need either english exams for CA correct?
  2. Is it hard to get a job as a nursing assistant? I am a recent nursing grad but have not taken the NCLEX yet and will not for at least a year. I wanted to get a job as a nursing assistant until I get my board license. What does a nursing assistant really do and how much am I looking at starting salarywise? Thank you.
  3. What would be acceptable and unacceptable explaination? My reason is I cannot afford to take the local exam now and I have to prepare for my wedding. Is that ok?
  4. Hi, I was originally trying to apply to NY board because it seemed the easiest route but now I read that CVS requires licensure from your origin country? So now I'm looking at CA because I heard from here that it is easy to obtain a license there too but just takes longer (which is no problem for me). But looking at the requirements in CA, it also states that you need proof of license in origin country BUT if you do not, you need a written explaination as to why. Why is it people on this board said you can go through NY and CA without local board exam but on the website it states differently? I've tried to contact the CA board but no one ever answers and I get a voice mail box that always says its full so I cannot leave a message either. I also tried email but they never respond. :angryfire
  5. huh? I thought NY board licensure doesn't require local board license from Philippines? Am I mistaken?
  6. Well the reason I picked NY over CA is I thought NY had faster processing time than CA but if NY takes 4 months isn't that same as CA? I'll have a SSN within weeks of arrival to the states so I don't mind that CA won't issue a hard license until I have that SSN since I'll have it soon anyway. So if I were to apply through California wouldn't that be better since the cost is less as well and the time frame is similar to NY?
  7. Should I apply for both cvs and nysed as well now? The reason I ask this is because I read somewhere that once the board allows you to sit for the NCLEX they give you an ATT? And the ATT expires after a certain time correct? I don't want to apply too early and then can't take nclex because of that.
  8. Is it ok to order the CVS this early? I will be in the states by November so I want to make sure there is no problem by doing early like this. After I get the CVS, then just submit the application to the NY board correct? Is this when I wait to sit for the NCLEX?
  9. Ok I think I've made my decision I will go through NY state board. My question now is, I'm still in the Philippines until november. Is it too early to order the CVS? Can I do it here while I'm still in the Philippines? Is there anything else I can do while I'm still here to get things moving along faster? I just graduated last week. Thanks.
  10. is saipan a state? i never heard of that.
  11. I might go through Cali.. Yes I will have SSN. 4-6 months is long but how much longer is that compared to other states?
  12. yeah i thought about new mexico but when i checked with them, they said i can't get licensure by exam because i reside in virginia which is a "compact state." seems that if you live in a compact state, you cannot get licensure by exam from another compact state.. az is also not an option because it is compact state as well
  13. I still need english and visa screen? But I'm not here as immigrant, i'll be comming on K1 visa. Does this still apply?
  14. I did search but I could not find any. Some sites did not have information on foriegn nurses either. If you know of one's that fit my description why not help me out?
  15. Can anyone help me please?
