Nursing Therapeutic Communication - What is the best Nurse response on the following?
Can you please tell me what is the best response to this statement if you are a Nurse?
1. Patient: "I can't be lying in this bed, I have to go home, I have to work and my children need me!"
2. Patient: "I'm just not myself since my blood pressure pill changes, I'm always tired!"
3. Patient: "What's going on? First, they say they have to operate, and then when I'm beginning to feel better, I get this infection. I don't think I'm ever going to get out of here!"
4. Patient: "I'm terrified of injection!"
5. Patient: "You think my doctor would have prevented me from getting Phlevitis? But he's too busy to care about what's happening to me."
6. Patient: (fidgeting) "Nobody cares. My doctor wants me to go - just on home?
7. Patient: "Nobody around here gives a royal hoot what happens to me."
8. Patient: "Well, my bhusband had a car accident last year. He had to give up driving and he's been do downever since. I'm afraid for him being by himself for so long."
9. Patient: "The doctor told me I needed a bunch of tests, because there is a lump in my neck."
