Need good tips on Nclex books

I already have Saunder's but I hear that it doesn't give you priority type questions can anyone please recommend a Good Nclex book to study from and how is the NCSBN website I take the test in two months or so. What should I focus on , I feel really out of place, I don't feel like Im guided with studying for this. Please Help! thanks alot!

I recently passed the NCLEX-PN, so here's what worked for me.

1. Do 85 to 100 questions daily on the Saunders CD-ROM and read the rationales for each and every answer. This will get you accustomed to sitting in front of a computer for a lengthy period of time at the actual NCLEX test center.

2. Are there any areas where you're really weak? If so, review them. I was weak in pharm, math, mental health, peds, shock, infections, legal and ethical issues, and obstetrics. Therefore, I re-read each textbook chapter that pertained to each of these subjects.

3. Learn how the NCLEX-PN works. If you answer your first question correctly, your next questions will become harder. If you answer a question incorrectly, your next questions will become easier. This Kaplan book was so wonderful and helped me pass on the first attempt.

4. Know your lab values: electrolytes, WBCs, RBCs, platelets, therapeutic blood levels of drugs, etc. Also know what will happen to the patient if each of these lab values is too high or too low.

5. Take your NCLEX as soon as possible. Your chances of passing are 80 percent if taken within 2 months of graduating from LPN/LVN school. Your chances of passing drop to 44 percent if you wait more than 2 months after graduation to take this test. I would reschedule for a sooner date if I were you.

Hi Commuter, that scares me what you said about the success rate of passing if you wait more than two months after graduation. I graduated Nov. 18 and could not get a date until 2/16 which is three months later. Just got the ATT so had no choice. I have been studying my butt off since November. As I told you previously, had already done Delmar, halfway through Mosby's and now from your recommendations I will finish with Kaplan. Do you think I will be okay (3 months out)? Also, it is taking me forever to read through Mosby's (so much review) so you think I should skip over alot of it and just do tests? I have been working on the CD's and doing every review test (sometimes only getting 73% or so). I don't want to reschedule the test though. I still have four more weeks. Need your expert opinion as I know you did great on NCLEX. I am also taking Chemistry which is low on my priority list compared to Boards. Thanks for your advice. I respect and appreciate your help. It seems to me that you're on the right track. No matter what you do, it is natural to never feel prepared enough for NCLEX.

Kaplan RN review book and http://www.ncsbn.org "learning extension are by far the best reviewers on the planet. Kapaln has a money back guarntee and ncsbn makes the nclex. I found these two reviews the only ones that helped me pass the nclex and the 50 priority questions thrown my way. Suanders, mosby, lipincott are all regurgitated nursing content you should have learned in school.

don't worry about the date you take it too much . I had to wait 4 months to take mine , and classmates waited 5 and 6 months and we all passed.
