i did a search and didnt find a thread already devoted to this...
i was hoping some of you could recommend some nursing fiction to read.
it is spring break and i managed to make it through finals without the flu that was running rampant through our area, but i think it has since hit me.
meaning, i feel like crap and all i want to do now is curl up with some good reading and maybe start a knitting project.
i know...lame for a 21 yr old's spring break but ::eh:: oh well.
so any good nursing fiction to recommend?
i enjoyed "toxin" by michael palmer. it starts with a farmer selling a sick cow to a factory then, while processing the cow they drop the cow on the floor but pick it up from the floor , then packaged it and sent to the local supermarket and a little girl dies from e. coli.
that book is actually by robin cook. i loved it--couldn't put it down, and didn't want to eat meat for a while. (got over that, though!) i like the books by leah robinson--they are not as well written as robin cook, but they are good for a light read.
this site lists a bunch of medical fiction books, maybe you can see something you like and find it at your local library!
Cute cat!Try Devil's Waltz by Jonathan Kellerman. It's about Munchausen-by-proxy.
I remember going to the library at the end of the term, first time I'd had time to read anything that wasn't for school. When I checked out the books, I realized that they all had a medical background. Fiction, non-fiction, didn't matter. Continuing Education, I guess.
That's my cat simba he's adorable and let me put on my stuffed animal's nursing hat for like 30 sec! I don't know why but i'm allways fascinated by munchausen syndrome. Maybe because it's so horrible a love one making one sick for their own gain. Anytime a life time has a movie about it i'm watching it.

I've remembered the other author of nurse-protagonist mysteries: Eileen Dreyer :)
