Need follow-up interview advice asap please

Tomorrow makes one week since my interview. I emailed the nurse manager and thanked her the day after my interview. I don't want to seem pushy, so how can I follow up via email to let her know I'm really interested without making her feel like I'm trying too hard? The market is REALLY tight in my area and I just really want this positon!

Did the NM say when she was going to make a hiring decision? If not, why don't you try calling her and politely ask if she has made a decision yet? Simply say that you really enjoyed meeting her and that you feel that unit would be a great place to begin your nursing career. This way you'll know right off the bat what the deal is and it's a lot easier to read people by the tone of their voice rather than an email.

Good luck and I hope it works out for you!

exactly...you should be pushy...You are trying to get the job! You should just be polite and call, ask when you could probably expect to hear a decision...and just mention that you were really excited about the unit, and you feel like it would be a GREAT place to start your career....GL!

I think I reached a dead end with this job. I emailed Wednesday and she never emailed back.

Have you any idea how busy these people are? Or how many administrative hoops they jump through? Give it a little more time.

Hi Jan. I realize how busy nursing administration is and normally I wouldn't blink at the fact that I haven't heard back, but the whole process down to the interview so far has been a strange one and there are other things that factor into my decision that I feel I've reached a dead end with this particular position.

Well, that's a whole different kettle of fish. You might be wise to walk away if there are other things setting off alarm bells. I hope you find something soon.
