Hi, we are a military family and will be relocated next July. Unfortunately, we have been given 16 different states as potential residences.
Can someone point me in the right direction of an accredited college with a nursing program? I would like to stay the community college route but, am open to looking into a University. I currently live in Oregon and have completed all of their required pre-requisites for the local community colleges. However, all states are different and I am struggling to complete this vast amount of research in order to use the upcoming fall term as effectively as possible. If you are familiar with this area and could provide me with some local schools and a link to their nursing program I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you

In Fort Worth, try Tarrant County College for the community college route. Weatherford College, which is west of Fort Worth, also has a program and there are several in Dallas but the commute and Dallas traffic might make them less desirable.
There is also TCU (a private university) in Fort Worth, and UT Arlington (public university) is not too far.
I have no clue about San Antonio. Good luck!

In San Antonio, there is SAC (San Antonio College), which has a good ASN program and St. Philips College which has a good LVN program. They are both part of the Alamo Community Colleges, which can be found here: The Alamo Colleges - Homepage
The University route can take you to UTHSCSA, (University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio) which is part of the University of Texas, which is a public university. There is also the University of the Incarnate Word and Wayland Baptist, both are private universities.
I do not know if the program offered at the Baptist Hospital System is accredited. I suspect the program offered at Galen is not accredited.
If you are an Army family, Ft Sam Houston is very close to SAC, but neither of the Air Force Bases are close to the above mentioned schools, but Randolph Air Force Base is probably the closest to SAC and maybe UTHSCSA, but I am not sure how far Lackland is to UTHSCSA. I live right outside of Randolph and commuted the distance to SAC which is about 15 to 20 miles.
Good luck
