So I changed majors when I was in my 3rd year of college and then I started taken my nursing classes, I have pretty much all c's in my sciences and am not sure If should even bother applying else where. I got into West Coast Dallas but honestly every one does and its super super expensive so i really could use some advice on if I should even bother applying elsewhere I also would like to hurry and finish up as well I could start tomorrow at WCU but others I would have to wait a year.

Good day, princess91:
Please consider calling the schools for which you desire to attend to find out their specific requirements especially for the sciences. Give your local community colleges due consideration as they are often extremely economical especially if you retake your sciences as well as the other prerequisites for a nursing program.
Thank you.

I changed from a business major (finance) when I was 15 hrs from completing my degree…..and I had to start all the way over pretty much English/Lit, Calculus, History, and Fine Art were the only gen. ed. classes that were part of the nursing requirements. I went to a community college for the first year of nursing pre-reqs than transferred to another 4 yr university BSN program. SO it can be done!
( And yes my parents were not happy at all when I did this change! I was told that I would have to finance this degree because they had paid for the last 4 yrs that I had just decided to throw away pretty much!!! I had to sell my house that I had inherited and move back in with my parents and work for a year to save up so I could start be nursing degree…..BEST CHOICE I EVER MADE!!!!!)

I agree with abraham. Each school has its different requirements to be considered for admission into the nursing program. You will want to find out which specific courses need to be completed to fulfill the prerequisites. For example, the nursing program I applied to requires a year of prereqs (including 2 semesters of Anatomy & Physiology, 2 semesters of general chem, 1 semester of English, etc.), but your score for consideration into the program is only based off of 4 of those courses and your TEAS results. If nursing programs in your area are the same, I would consider retaking those courses that will be considered when you apply to the program. Community colleges in my area also offer nursing degrees, BSN and ADN, for a lot cheaper than going to public colleges. Good luck with deciding on which path to take! It can be overwhelming sometimes, but it just takes time and patience :) and a few phone calls.
$109,000 for a BSN!!!!! RUN!!! You could go to medical school for that!! I went to a private 4 yr university for 2 yrs and at $15k/yr I thought it was bad.
I don't understand why would the program be that much?!?!?! Is that place for real

I would apply elsewhere. That is an insane amount of money to pay for nursing school. It gets to a point where you won't get a return on your investment. That is how you have to look at your college education. It is an investment on your future. Would you invest $100,000 in the stock market if they told you that your return would only end up being $90,000? I wouldn't for a $10,000 loss. I don't think anyone would. Take into account bills you have to pay, what you save for retirement, and entertainment when making a budget and then see how much you can afford in student loans. You don't want to be paying this back for the rest of your life. Yes, nurses make decent money but realistically you have to pay back that money and you would have to make an awful lot to pay that back.

Be careful retaking classes. I know at the school I applied to if you retook any of your science or math classes that counted against you. I would really look into the requirements for the schools you want to go to. Can you defer your enrollment for the school you were accepted to and try to apply to other ones? That way if you don't get chosen at the other schools you still have the school you were already accepted to.
