It sounds like in both instances, you may have been standing in one spot for too long. Does that sound accurate? The key here would be to move your feet, shift your weight, etc. when you have to stand for long periods. I don't know if compression stockings would be appropriate, but you could ask your OB about that. Also, be sure to snack throughout the day to avoid blood sugar issues.

this is my first pregnancy and i've worked in a stepdown unit for a few years now and never get queasy or dizzy or anything...
but about a month ago (i was about 14 weeks) i tried to hold pressure on a groin to pull a sheath and i got too dizzy and hot and nauseous so another nurse had to take over for me...
then last week (19 weeks) i had a patient with a central line being placed. it took forever for the CRNA to get the line in and i started again feeling dizzy and hot....again had to call another nurse to standby to assist....
i am worried, has this happened to anyone else?? i sure hope this stops after the baby comes!!!
