I currently have a BA in Psych and a teaching credential. I don't have any experience in the healthcare field. I would like to obtain my RN license. I need some advice on what the best routes would be for me to take. Can I get the RN without the BSN and work for a few years and directly go into a MSN program?

Yes, you can. With the BA in psych, you probably already have most of the pre-reqs you need for an associates in nursing (ADN.)
Thanks. I know I would need some life science and chemistry prereq with labs that I did not take.
How much time would it take? I heard 2 years? But if I go BSN it would take that long as well. I'm confused on this.

Go for an accelerated BSN. Depending on your area, you may find your employment options severely limited if you don't have a BSN.

I agree about the aBSN. That would be, most likely, the way to go. Getting a BSN in the current nursing culture will really help your job prospects.
