Need advice with problem with travel company

Published

I am hoping someone can give me advice. I started working for a travel company in February of 2008. After I completed my first 3 month assignment I was asked to renew. I tried to negotiate a higher pay rate with the company but the recruiter stated that she could not increase it. She did, however, say that if I would take a 6 month contract I could get two laptop computers. I got one at the beginning of the contract and I was supposed to receive one when I completed the contract. I informed the company a few weeks before my contract was up that I was going to take a full time position. The company allows you to do this after the completion of two contracts in one location. I could tell my recruiter was not happy about this. I have been unable to get them to send me the computer even though I completed my contract and can hardly get anyone to respond to me at all. HELP!

Did you get in writing? If not you may be screwed, if you did, ask about their employee grievance policy or speak to their General Manager.

IMO, the second computer is GONE. Just is. Never tell them you are leaving if they owe you anything. Thats how they are.

Things that I lent to my managers were never returned and my polite requests both oral and written ignored. This happened even before my departure; so always collect something that is owed to you as soon as possible, otherwise don't count on ever getting it.
