I have selected 3 schools to apply to for next fall. I have been in communication via email with an advisor from my top choice and they had been really helpful. I sent my transcript per their request for evaluation nearly two weeks ago along with a follow up email to ensure they received it and I haven't heard back yet. If you were in this situation what would you do? I really want to send another email, but I don't want to annoy them. I was thinking it might be due to the semester starting next week, but this is a long time with no response. I really need some advice here. Thanks!

Honestly, from someone who has done the same it doesn't seem like that long. I've had some schools take a month before I heard anything and most likely the reason is because now they have everything they need from you and just need to do their part. It is probably a busy time of year for them too, but sending another e-mail doesn't hurt. I had a similar situation though with the school I'm at now and did bug them and guess what-my crappy old school hadn't sent the transcripts! On the computer it had said they were sent a month ago and really weren't so if I hadn't called and found out I would have been sitting there waiting for a response and probably wouldn't have figured everything out until it was too late, so I am glad I bothered them and was able to take care of everything on time. But I have had otehr schools that took forever and a day so you never know :)
Thanks iluvpatho. I have a previous degree and I need to know what credits they will accept for transfer so that I know what to register at the local cc for.

I have the perspective of both the nursing student and someone who works in higher ed. I know that you want to get a jump on your prereqs, but isn't there something that you know you need to take regardless of what they accept? Can you start with that?
Your biggest problem right now is probably that they are completely overwhelmed - I work at a graduate school and this week is our orientation week with classes starting next week and its insane here! I'm taking 10-15 minutes now to goof off on AN, but have been going non-stop since about 7am (no lunch break, only had 2 bathroom breaks). I'm sure they will get back to you. Maybe wait until next week and then send a follow-up email to see if they've had a chance to review your transcripts. I'm sure they are inundated with applications, emails, etc. this time of year.
Good luck with everything, I'm almost done with NS, but it seems like yesterday I was in your shoes!
Thank you so much sh1901! I'll take your advice and give them some more time. I presumed that the delay was in part due to the time of year. Thanks again!

Hi! I would wait a couple few more weeks. Evaluating transcripts is complicated and it may take up to 6 weeks at some schools. My previous college needed it AT LEAST 8 weeks in advance not to mention now that school is starting back up again.
I would wait a few more weeks if you don't hear anything send them a message replying with the old message about the transcript. If that doesn't work, call them. Go in and see them if you have to. Do whatever you can, it's your future.
