Need advice please

Nurses General Nursing

I am in the process of preparing myself to leave a well paying but dead end jod that Ive been at for 16 years. I wanted to go to nursing school but the scheduling and cost does not allow me to at the present time. I am interested in doing the dialysis tech course or the cna and pca course. I have to keep in mind the salary I would make working as one or the other as I can take but so much of a pay cut.. Can someone here give me the pros and cons of each of these courses and professions? Maybe it would help me make up my mind.. Thanks

the question is...what does "consistently" mean...how long does it take for them to say you ARE working consistently 30 hours per week, and then what happens when you don't.....

Good question to ask. I never asked because I never expected to get the 30 hours of work...

i didn't even know that they had a dialysis tech course...here [la] you have to be an experienced r n to work in a dialysis maybe becuase most of them are freestanding clinics and you have to be able to resond in an emergency

if that was possible, i would not be asking this question,.. I cant do RN because #1 there are no RN courses (that I know of) in NYC at night. Quitting my day job is not an option. #2 I cannot get a student loan for reasons I will not answer again but if you read up a few you will get the answer.,. I basically have to pay out of pocket

I know that a friend of mine did this also and all she did was call the company, make arrangements for payments, and then sent that first payment in. She was out of the default status after that and current. You can try calling them and see if they can set up new payment arrangements with you. Most of these loan companies will work with you. THey HAVE to work with you, or else they don't get any money.

I had to take the time to thank you for your advice.. I called the Dept of Education and made arrangements to make low monthly payments to my defaulted account. I was told that after 6 consecutive ontime payments I will be able to get a student loan.. Thank you soooo much for your help :)
