NEED ADVICE:CONTINUE NCLEX APPLICATION INSPITE OF RECESSION and RETROGRESION?

Published

I am confused, I have the spirit to study and review for the NCLEX but i heard a lot of news about RETROGRESSION and the economy of America is getting worse. :scrying:

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Retrogression has been ongoing since Oct 06 and current figures show they are processing applications for 2003 unless born in India and that is showing 2001 and the US is going through a rough time in a lot of places on jobs, either hiring freezes, lay offs or cut down in hours. All you have to do is read the general nursing forum or various state forums to see threads like this. Retrogression I think at the moment is here to stay as visa applications far outweigh allocated visas

Thought you wanted to go to Canada?

Forget it. For at least 10 years.

BLESSED23,

I do not wish to discourage you. I have always wanted to work in the U.S. because I felt so secured when I was there in 2001 as a tourist.:smokin:

I wanted to bring my family back to the U.S. and build my house there. I wanted to be walking in the streets and inhale and exhale American air. I wanted to let my husband and children feel how nice it is to ride a car and travel long distances through land and still get a nice road. I wanted to have a house which has nice automized machines and truly organized gadget around the house.

I passed my NCLEX, 2005, CGFNS and IELTs, have a VISA screen and even a course by course complete education equivalence by CGFNS.Have a 3 yr. experience, BUT??? i am still in the Philippines. ...today.:zzzzz

Now..I should have...applied to other countries when I had finished my experience in one yr. I should have considered other trainings and spent for the training rather than paying the exams and other papers. I should have accepted other countries.

That is now for you to decide.:nurse::)

I would work were you can get work. If and when jobs become available in the USA you will be way ahead of all the other nurses applying.

Excellent insight.

Hope all pinoy student nurses and those about to jump on the bandwagon heed this. You future if it's the USA you are targeting is very bleak. There are countless thousands of Pinoy RNs waiting in line ahead of you. Better take up another college course.

Thank you so much Barbie38 for illuminating my mind. What would be your other option now?
