Hi all,
So I am in dire need of advice. I am a new CNA with no experience (besides clinical experience from program, and I also am a volunteer for another local hospital). I work as a barista in a Children's Hospital, and have been looking out and applying for CNA positions within the hospital. It's a place I really want to work at, and I have been trying to get my foot in the door. A few weeks ago, I scored an interview in the surgical unit at the hospital, but they turned me down because "someone else was more qualified." Well now, they have another opening and I really want to apply to the unit again, but I don't know if it's a good idea. I do have the phone number of one of the managers that interviewed me last time, and was contemplating if I should reach out to her.
What do you guys think? What should I do? The surgical unit is something I am very interested in as a pre-nursing student so I really, really want this. lol

Go for it! What harm can it do? Tell them you are still interested in the position. It cannot hurt to try.
You may need to apply several places before you land a job, so don't get discouraged.
Go go over your résumé and cover letter to see if you can tweak it. Sometimes it's beneficial to have another person read it as well.
Best of luck.
