I'll try to keep it simple and to the point. If you need any clarifications on anything please feel free to inform me...
--------
In order to apply for my school's ADN-RN program, I need to take one *key* class left which would be Chemistry. While taking Chemistry, I can apply for my school's program to enter in the Spring of 2016.
First problem is, all of my school's chemistry classes are taken for now except for a hybrid class which I do not want to do. I start school September 8th. Do seats usually open up around first day of class where I will be able to find an open seat? Have any of you encountered a similar problem and eventually got what you asked for?
Second problem is, I still have a few remaining classes to take, but they do not need to be taken before I apply for the program. I do want to get them out of the way though so I don't have to combine nursing classes + pre requisites.
These are the remaining classes I have to take:
-Developmental Psych
-Microbiology
-English 102
-Urban Studies
-Anatomy & Physiology 2
Here is how I was going to break it down:
*Fall 2015 Semester (09/08/2015-12/17/2015)*
-Chemistry
-Microbiology or English 102
*Winter 2015 Semester (1/04/2016-2/25/2016):*
-Anatomy and Physiology 2
I planned on taking one class (Urban Studies) while taking my Nursing classes, two at most but if I can limit it to one I would be much better off.
Knowing what classes I have left to take, and knowing that I will be expecting to start Nursing classes Spring of 2016... What would you recommend to me what classes I should take, so that during my program I will only have to focus on the least demanding per-requisite (English 102? Developmental Psych? Urban studies?)
Would taking Chemistry + Microbiology + Developmental Psych be suicide? I would love to not have to worry about taking Microbiology alongside my Nursing classes as I hear that would be pretty hard to accomplish.
I look forward to your opinions
And if anyone has taken microbiology, or another demanding science course during your Nursing classes, how did you get by? What was it like? Did one study of a class interfere with another?

Spots sometimes will open around the first day of classes. You can try asking the school to enroll you in the class if it's full. They will go over their limit sometimes. You could also look into taking the class at another school and transfer the credit BUT always check with your program first and make sure they will accept the transfer credit.
As for the other classes you have to take, I think it would be best to ask someone already in the program what they recommend/how difficult the classes are since this is generally dependent on the specific school. I took microbio in the same semester as A&P I. Microbio was easy and A&P was difficult.
As a side note, it might be nice to have a non nursing class thrown in with all of your nursing classes. I always looked forward to my non nursing classes! It was a nice break and I got to mingle with different students.

sometimes classes will open up because some people will drop out for one reason or another. I had this issue with my A&P II course. I was enrolled in a fast track course so that I could take A&P I and II in the same semester. I got into A&P I but couldnt get into A&P II until like right before the class started because it was full. So it is possible. I would check other schools in the area to see if they have an open course just in case. But be checking like evvery day to see if a spot has opened up. You dont want to miss it.
I took A&P I and II at the same time as micro. A&P was super easy for me. I thought micro was going to be the death of me. I spent so much time studying for A&P because I was really interested in it. I hated micro with a passion. I somehow managed to pass with a B.
As for chemistry, I really thought I was going to hate it since I hated it and didnt understand it at all when I took it in high school. I ended up loving it and passing with an A. Chem II was a different story. I hated that haha. It all depends on you I guess whether a class will be hard or not. It depends on how intereested you are in the subject matter and how devoted you are to studying and learning the material.
I would not suggest taking micro and chemistry in the same semester if you can avoid it. Good luck to you!
