Well with registry you have to have experience.
Are you not getting paid for your time in orientation? Six months orientation will be nice...if only I had as much time in my ER as you do! I have only a month. I can't imagine that your orientation means you work for free. If so, that might be a bad sign. If the pay is just really low...I think getting a second job might create more problems than the one you are seeking to solve.
If you have set hours in your present job, what you do in your off time is your business. However, you would have to caution a new employer not to contact your present employer. It would help to tell them why. You should be careful that you do not overextend yourself until you feel secure in your first position, otherwise you might find yourself jobless with a black mark against your record. The debts aren't going anywhere. But they won't get paid if you lose your present job. Just another caution.

I am orienting at my first nursing job in a local ER where the orientation is six months long:o. There is no OT allowed during orientation. I racked up major debt going to school and would like to earn some extra money in the mean time. Is there any kind of part time or prn work for new grads or is that a no no:nono:? BTW, I passed NCLEX last week.
