what does ncx stand for under family history?

Published

it says fhx: ncx

i think it's family history because it was under past history, past surgical history. but next to family history it says ncx. what does this mean

Non-contributory would be my best guess.

Specializes in Cath Lab/ ICU.

what does non-contributory mean??

what does non-contributory mean??

It means no family history related/contributed to the admission diagnosis. For example, if a pt was admitted with an extremely high blood pressure, non-contributory would mean that there is no family hx of htn or possibly other cardiac issues. That doesn't mean there is no family hx of other health issues. It just means no family hx r/t current admission diagnosis.

ask the writer or your instructot to be sure

For some reason it looks like "no cancer" to me.
