NCSBN 5 week course review extlearning

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi! Did anyone do the NCSBN extlearning review online? What were your scores? I know NCSBN wants you to have 75% on each lesson. Are you reviewing all the materials before taking the post exam? If you completed a lesson, did you go back to retake lesson to improve your score? Did answers change or were they same ones? Did you think NCSBN were similar to NCLEX style questions? How many lessons did you do in a day since its only 20 q's but a bunch of material to review?

P.S. Is there SATA in NCSBN anywhere on the lesson plan?

Any suggestion....thank you! Sorry for so many questions here.

I am still in Lesson 6A: pharmacology :specs:

I took a 75 qs in Saunders CD 5e, I scored 62% Ahhhhhh!!

Well, I hope you guys are doing good!:kiss

wow!! how you deal with psychosocial questions??

it is my weakest area!

@rn1mid: when choosing the best answer related to a psychosocial question...i would choose one that provides for the emotional, mental, social well-being of the patient...patient-centered responses that promote safety for the client and others, encourage self sufficiency and promote independence (i.e., by teaching, referring to social workers, support groups, etc).

also, when answering these questions...i think in terms of:

1.) how can i as a nurse provide a safe environment for this patient and others?

2.) what can i do to help the patient become more self sufficient and encourage patient to participate in their care?

this is where i place myself in a role as a teacher, guidance counselor, angel with a halo....all within the scope of nursing, of course.

for other questions that does not have anything to do with above, then i would have to study content. hope this makes sense.

I did two chapters of LaCharity yesterday. I also did q's bank 3 and amazing recd 85% on two q's, one 95%, I was shock but happy. I did pretest score 60% of 150 q's :( I have been taking my time reading question twice then picking the best answer. 2 more weeks for my NCLEX, and I had anxiety yesterday.

I'm up and about to start more questions in LaCharity. Early in morning I do 2 chapters in LaCharity before I do ncsbn or saundars. It's a must.

Futurelpn2012 & dream2bnurse1234, did you both start ncsbn review?

Is NCSBN worth it ? I have couple more weeks till the Nclex . And would like to study more ..

Begosh, I keep getting same % on pretest, ahhhh!!!!

You're referring to NCSBN pre-test? Here's what I do...

When I get an answer right (but was not sure when I initally chose it...meaning...the answer sounded good and sort of made sense and somewhat fit the question :p ), I would research further to validate why it's correct. NCSBN rationales are too minimal for my brain...I need a little more detail to better understand it.

Don't rush and read the questions slowly. Sometimes I find myself missing a word or two when I first read the question (when my ADHD kicks in )....because at this point, I'm probably tired of studying and just want to get it over with.

Let's keep our heads together and say a prayer. WE GOT THIS! :w00t:
