Anyone That Has Done The Ncsbn Review Online, And Taken The Nclex, Do You Think It Helped? I Am Currently Doing The Review Online But My Scores Are 50%-80%.. Not As Well As I Would Like Them To Be... What Kind Of Prediction Is This Review For Passing Boards?

Hey!!! I'm doing the NCSBN review also... I don't know if it helps... I will find out on Saturday because I'm taking my boards on Saturday... I am getting pretty low scores though... I started off with like mid 50 to high 60... And now im doing better... I'm getting like 80's.... The questions do make me think though and a lot of people did recommend this to me... So i'll let you know on saturday whether i think if its effectice or not

I took the NCLEX today, 7/5/06 and I did do the NCSBN course and I personally did not find it helpful. The questions on the random questions were ok, but not like the NCLEX. I did not feel prepared, I am not sure if anything could have prepared me. I felt like the NCSBN was more content orientated and not like the ?? on nclex. Of course I can't expect them to be the same but they seemed to be more prioritization and "best" response by the nurse, pt you need to see first, etc. and I was not prepared for that. That is just my opinion but I feel really horrible right now and so bummed. My life will come crashing down on me if I do not pass. I will loose my fellowship and job. I have to wait until I take the boards again and pass b4 I can go back so my life is riding on it right now. I know I am going overboard, my "life" is not literally riding on it but it's a BIG DEAL 2x me!! Good luck and I hoped I helped. Kaplan has a great course from what I have heard it prepares you very very well. And they back u and pay for u to test again if u fail. Best of luck.

armywife2006,
Don't despair, the questions you got on the exam..like Priority questions, and who do you see first....I've heard that if you get those types of questions, then you're actually doing pretty well ...I also heard that NCSBN's course was pretty good...I'm taking my PN exam @ the end of the month, and i feel defeated already:o ...I've been trying my best to study, but my anxiety level is really high right now....Just wait, a friend of mine on this site just passed her boards, and she got some of the same type of questions...so just wait

I took it and wouldn't really recommend it. Although I did pass the NCLEX the first time I found that the content review was really really tedious to get through, then the questions at the end of each review section didn't even pertain to the content I had reviewed, so what was the point?? I didn't end up going through all the review content but I did do the random questions at the end (all of them) and although they aren't like the NCLEX questions - they are more content based - that was the only good part of the review.....I got anywhere from 50-90 on them but mostly 65-75. Hope that helps.
