NclexRN in 11 days, Kaplan test scores (what do u think)???

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello all!!! I am so nervous yet I feel like I am ready to tackle my nclex RN (with completion of studying, including remaining trainers and QBank). So far I have scored QT1 58%, QT2 66.7% didn't take Q3 ( but I plan too) QT4 60.7%, and QT5 58%. BTW I scored a 58.6% on my readiness exam although the time ran out and i didnt get to ans the last 15 questions (which were counted wrong) I am doing ATLEAST 100 questions a day averaging around 60%. I have about 10 days left to prepare........ What do u think?? All advice is welcomed and appreciated! Please help, im feeling pretty good but my scores aren't so promising!

I would go ahead and take NCLEX as soon as possible. As long as you are consistently scoring near 60 percent, you're ready.

I also used Kaplan to prepare, and in my opinion, their questions are harder than the actual NCLEX. Good luck to you!

Thank you for your advice (it gives me more faith)!

I just took QT6 and I scored a 65%. During the test I started feeling sick and lightheaded on top of that I developed a headache so I was just trying to hurry and finish. I was really shocked by my results bc I just knew I scored in the low 50%. However, I was pleased to see my score. I decided I am doing to much (yesterday I studied 12hours) so I am not going to look at anything else today. I am going to start again tomorrow with the remediation of this test and then some more Qbanks. I plan to take my Qtrainer 7 on Wed (just to give my self a break between the test). Let me know what you guys think or recommend?. Remember I have 10 days left. So all ur speedy/swift words of advice are welcomed! Shaking in my shoes over here!.!.!.

I just started my Kaplan and on the diagnostic test I got 61.11% QT1: 60% QT2: 64% and the Q bank 64%

What do you guys think of this score I take the NCLEX in 3 weeks and am really nervous

My advice to everyone taking the NCLEX and using Kaplan..

Make sure you complete EVERYTHING before you take the test (Question trainer, Qbank, etc.) and know the rationale of the questions you got wrong and you'll do great!

I averaged a 57% when I completed it all and I still passed! I just made sure I knew the subjects that Kaplan focused on and understood why I got questions wrong.

Good luck everyone! And I hope that helps!

NCLEX SALLY!!!!! You sound like one smart cookie.... Did you go to a Kaplan program?Your scores are similar to mine and I am nervous as well. This thread has put me at ease, A LITTLE.....I'll be praying for you and you do the same.

I did not so well on the Kaplan review tests...averaged around 60% on most of them! I took NCLEX in September and passed. Good luck...the Kaplan test was actually more helpful then it seems because it teaches you how to answer the questions! Just take your time and your so great!!

Ugh I just completed QT7 and made a 57.4%. I have 5 days before the Nclex and I am driving myself crazy. I can't wait to have this behind me. If anyone else was as nervous as me please tell me what you did the day of the NCLEX to calm your nerves (scared my nerves are going to interfere with my concentration). Please help nursing friends!!!

Thanks for your response, it truly makes me feel better. And congratulations on passing your NCLEX. Initially I was concerned because although I did the Kaplan review I seem to use the decision tree less and less. Not because I am against using it but it seems it only applies to a very small amount of the questions. To be honest on QT7 I didn't use it at all. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your response! You all on this website are always here when we need you most (offering advice or past experience) and I must say I genuinely appreciate that. Are there any other words of advice or pearls of wisdom can can offer me on such short notice (5days before the test)? Also any helpful mneumonics? Is there one to help recall the names of the cranial nerves (I'm in desperate need of that)? I have the precautions mneumonic down but just anything else would be appreciated. I also noticed I have a weakness on the appropriate food diets so I have to work harder on that. I could go on and on (lol) but again thanks so much and thanks to ev1 else who responded!
