Nclex Worries

Published

Hi, this is my first posting on the forum while I've read through many many threads.

I was first scheduled to take the NCLEX late August, but have changed my test date more than once and now it is approaching October already. I graduated recently and studied for a good while during the beginning of the summer. I actually had done a good amount of review and practice questions before graduating as well. But with things that came up and lack of concentration, my studying dwindled down after mid summer (which is the reason I've pushed back my test date). I'm scheduled to take it this Saturday actually, but I'm scared. I told myself that I would not change the date regardless because pushing it back has not been doing me any good. Now, of course I'm re-thinking that again.

This feeling sucks b/c I know I would have been fine to take it if I had kept up some consistent studying...and now time is just my enemy.

What do you think?

Also, to those of you that have passed, what was your preparation like and what were you getting on practice tests?

to nursingbsn08,

hi there! just wanna say that you know yourself well, and preparation for nclex is really a big deal. if you really think you are ready then go for it! anyway, you have 1 year from the date of your att to take the exam. you are still okay, if i may say so because you have just graduated recently. i guess you still have a fresh knowledge of nursing stuff. what about like me, i graduated way way back, and it is only this year that i decided to take nclex (after a bunch of kids and a life dedicated as a full time mom & wife). do you think, i can go through it without stress and anxieties? i'm taking my exam next month. you're still young, start focusing on your review and get on with it. there is a big field to conquer in our profession. may god bless you!

Each BON will have their own eligibility on how long your ATT will last for a lot it is 90 days and if it expires you have to apply for another and pay fees again. If your ATT is going to expire (should state on it) then I think the best thing to do is do it instead of wasting money, if you can re schedule may want to think about that.
