Anyone else freaked out after their NCLEX? Anyone want to know their NCLEX results ASAP or you don't want to pay for the 'quick results?' I did this. My peers told me about the "trick" and it worked. I checked immediately after the NCLEX and again 24 hours later and I passed! (I had ALL of the questions and it was terrible)
Now, I have read online from others that the trick is not always guaranteed...but they never specified what state they were from or when they checked or anything. I also read online that some states take away a GN license ASAP, but TX does not (at this time, who knows about the future)
If you don't try the trick through Pearson, you can also simply look at the TX BON website and check to see if you are still registered as a GN. If you are, this is a good sign. If not, that is not a good sign. If you check 48 hours later and you no longer see your GN license, check under RN license verification and your name should pop up! If not, you may want to try the trick on the PearsonVue website and if you go pass the submit page and get a verification page...you did not pass (do not fret!) Or simply wait the 48 hours and pay for the quick results.
Good luck to everyone who is taking it! and I hope this puts your mind at some ease!

The reason why discussing a specific State when talking about NCLEX is useless is because it is a national exam. Not a State exam (there IS no such thing as "State Boards" anymore, not for MANY years).
Pearson Vue is a nationally-used company; the software they use is NATIONALLY used. It doesn't vary by State. There IS no "Texas NCLEX".
The States that do not participate do not allow their applicants to obtain Quick Results for eight bucks. This has absolutely nothing to do with the silly frenzy known as The Pearson Vue 'Trick'.
Each State determines when and how and if they will post updates, remove interim permit status, and/or post license numbers.
And no, the PVT is really a glitch (or side effect, if you will) of the registration software used, and is not terribly accurate. MOST of the time if you were charged, you fail. SOME of the time you get charged and pass anyway. Same if you use fraudulent card info: sometimes a charge attempt is made regardless of pass/fail status.
Does this help you?
