NCLEX tomorrow.. suprisingly not freakin out

Published

The day has finally arrived! I'll be taking the NCLEX tomorrow at 2 p.m. I'm suprisingly feeling calm and confident about tomorrow. I've done everything I can.. thousands of questions, took a review course, studied content and anytime I came across a med/equipment/disease I looked it up so I could recognize it. I'm going into this test with no regrets! Hopefully all of my hardwork will pay off. My emotions keep going back and forth regarding if I think I will pass or not.. I know that I have the knowledge and I understand "how" to take the test, but then I read threads about people not passing and I get this feeling inside.. What if it happens to me.. but I have confidence in myself and I know I can do this! And so can everyone else! If we didn't have the capability and knowledge to pass this test, we wouldn't have gotten this far!! I want to thank everyone for their contributions to the threads in this forum.. I've religiously checked in daily to read new facts.. they've helped my studying tremendously! The next time I post, I will hopefully be a RN :nurse: Wish me luck!

yes please keep us posted! i hope i am as calm and confident when its my turn!

It's official... I'm a RN!!!!!!!! :nurse: I found out this morning on the state BON's website.. after checking every 10 minutes for 2 hours haha.. I was at work when I found out... when I saw my name with the license number I could feel my eyes begin to fill up with tears and I felt like a huge weight had been lifted.. I don't know what to do with myself without my review books.. but I'm sure I'll manage haha

Before taking my test.. I was always interested in ready how people studied and what materials they used. I studied about 2 months, at least 100 questions a day. I took the Drexel Live review course.. which was so-so.. I've heard a lot negative comments about the course.. it was more content focused, which was good for me because it reminded me of all the stuff I had forgotten that I had learned in school. Also with taking the course, you have access to online site.. with manyyy questions. To review questions, I used the Lippincott and Mosby review books.. both books had a few comprehensive exams that used different formats.. I also practiced questions on the computer with NCLEX 3500.. I thought this was a great resource because they have an option to pick just alternate format questions, which really helped me. To supplement these materials, I reviewed the Kaplan book for the test strategies, which I thought were also helpful..

As you can see, I used many resources when studying. To keep myself organized.. I used a calender on my computer to assign a certain number of questions/content to certain days.. This was beneficial because I made sure that I wanted to get in all the questions/ comp tests.. at times it was difficult to stay on track since things come up on the weekends and such.. but I think it really helped me..

Overall, I did roughly 7500 questions.. and it was all worth it. Aside from practice, practice, practice... I can't reiterate how important it is to stay calm and confident!! I think the actual idea of the test could be more overwhelming than the actual tests.. Just remember, you made it through nursing school.. you can do this!!!!

CONGRATS!!! :yeah:

I wish I could trade spots with you.

I wish I had done as well as you! I walked in confident and came out in tears. 75 questions with the last 6-8 questions being meds that I had never heard of before. Not a good sign.

I won't find out for at least another week.

Enjoy and celebrate.
