Hey y'all! At my school we did Hurst Review and throughout the semesters used Hogan's Review & Rationales books to reference quick content and questions. There have been several people that have told me Hurst did not help them as much as they thought it would. In reading several posts by others, I gather the same. They did say that NCLEX 3500/4000 questions helped prepare them better. I was also told from a handful of people, who I know personally that have taken boards this year that a majority of the questions were SATA. Psych was also a common topic they all had. Just wondering if anyone has or would like to share what they have come across.

I am curious about Kaplan, which a lot of y'all keep referring to. The trainer questions, is this a book to purchase or a program online? Is it free?

I'm talking about NCLEX-RN by the way...:)

Thanks in advanced!

I used Kaplan to study. It is an online program or live review that costs about as much as the Hurst review. I did the live review, and the instructor walks you through how to break apart and answer the questions from each section. I really felt that it helped me out. The class gave me the tools I needed to break the questions apart and answer them critically. I also have been told that if you buy the kaplan strategies book, you can gain access to a modified version of what kaplan offers. There are a few trainers and what not to practice with if you choose that option. I also used the Saunders book to clarify any content that I needed to brush up on, and practice alternate format questions. My advice to you is to practice a lot of questions, but review all of the rationales to the questions.
