Anyone writing the exam next month?I was a part of the June and July Support group and it was great. I am currently reviewing Suzanne's plan, I am a re-taker and so far I am at a road block with meds...
I don't know how to re-start with reviewing meds the best way....if anyone has any tips, please share the wealth!!
I think it would be great if we would start an October support group if one has not been started already...if one has started (I couldn't find it), pleae post and let me know where...
Good luck reviewing...

Hi everybody, I will be taking my test October 21, 2008 I am very scared. I have been holding off the test due to the fact of me take three classes at a University. I am starting to think I took too much to handle. :cry:Maybe I shouldn't say that. I just need to believe in myself. I need all the support I can get. Thanks.
just hang in there babygirl1470, you can surely do it. believe in yourself. you can get additional helpful tips in the sticky random facts thread, for your review. good luck! here's a thought for you...
detoxing your mind
today's scripture
"keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life" (proverbs 4:23).
today's word
when something is toxic, it's poisonous; it can destroy you. when we go around dwelling on the wrong thoughts, thinking about what we can't do or how we'll never get ahead, those thoughts are toxic thoughts. toxic thoughts left alone become like toxic waste that sinks into your heart. it will eventually contaminate your whole life. it affects your self-image. it affects your attitude, your level of confidence, and ultimately, your success. that's why the scripture says to guard your heart because the condition of your heart and mind determine the condition of your whole life.
make the decision today to detox any negative, self-defeating thoughts by meditating on god's promises instead. make the decision to detox bitterness, detox low self-esteem, detox negative words that may have been spoken over you, detox condemnation. make the decision to dwell on what god says about you. god says, "you are forgiven." god says, "your best days are in front of you." god says, "i'll restore the years that the enemy has stolen." as you detox your mind and fill your thoughts with his promises, you'll see his hand of blessing on your life. you'll rise up higher, and you'll live the abundant life he has for you!
a prayer for today
father in heaven, i invite you to purify my heart and mind by your spirit today. wash me with the word as i meditate on your wonderful promises. help me keep my mind focused on you. in jesus' holy name. amen.

well just found out about 1/2 hr ago that i passed. i am still in shock.don't know if others have read my story elsewhere but i graduated nursing school in 1977 and went on to pass the old boards. i practiced for about 12 yrs and left nursing in 1989 for a degree/career in mechanical engineering. i left eng in 2006 after being laid of here in michigan. i worked for a major auto company. i let my license lapse but now want to return to nursing. so i needed to take the nclex. i used suzanne's plan but i kinda of tweaked it so it really isn't her plan. but she got me started on the right track. i read each chapter of saunder's then answered the q's at the end of each chapter then went on to answer over 4000 questions. i also used kaplan and the nclex q's have the same structure as the kaplan. i used the q trainers and got scores in the 60's - highest 69. the only caveat with the kaplan q's is that you may not get that saem exact content on the test so you really need to know your content. i didn't pay for the class. didn't have $500.
allnurses helped me tremendously with all the support and the nursing student forum with awll the tips and mnemonics. they saved my life.
i took 88 questions and it took me about 1 and half hour to complete. when i got to 75 and it didn't turn off i really thought i was in it for the long haul(265). i really had to focus and concentrate. i used the board and put down 1,2,3,4 and then would cross off each answer i thought was wrong. it seemed as i got down to 2 and both seemed could be right. i couldn't tell which questions were the trial q's and the test q's. when i walked out of the building i really couln't tell you if i passed or failed. i had no clue.
i studied for about 2 months. i figured since i had been gone for son long that i needed the extra time.
i am so happy. i can put these books away or sell them.

Lovendove relax. You're making me nervous as well..hehe. You know guys at one point i wanted to advance my exam this 20th because I feel like i can't take the pressure anymore and get it over with. Ill have my exam scheduled on the 28th though..Although I haven't finished the study materials yet I feel like i just wan't to finished it and to be relieve by the pressure. But then again, I always say to myself there's no other way but to pass. So I decided to just continue with the 28 schedule.(Still feel ill go with the 20th too) hehe sorry just being indifferent I guess im just nervous and all. Anyways Good luck to those who will have their exam tomorrow. GOd bless
