Well this morning I took the NCLEX-RN at 8am. I was there for about 2 hrs when the test shut off at 75 questions. I remember sitting there thinking "Please let this test keep going because if it shuts off at 75 then I know I failed!" So needless to say when it shut off at 75 I was shaking. I managed to make it out to my car and do the pearson vue trick...good pop up! Even though I am somewhat relieved that I got the pop up I won't really believe it until I see pass. Anyway I wanted to let everyone know how I prepared.
I was an A-B student all throughout nursing school and got a 99% probability of passing NCLEX per ATI. I however kept studying after the my last day of class which was 2 weeks ago. The only things I used were Mary Ann Hogan (Pearson reviews and rationales 2nd ed) and NCLEX 3500 (online and free). Hogan was my main source and the reason is because it was much harder than ATI. I did all the test online several times and when I took the comprehensive test a couple days ago I got a 75% and Hogan recommends 80%.
As far as NCLEX...It is hard to describe. I felt the questions were pretty straight forward and it was easy to determine what they were asking, but the answers were difficult. I had zero confidence throughout that test! There were a whole lot of priority questions and I recommend you practice those type of questions. I had a variety of questions...probably 10 select all, couple of exhibits, 2 dosage calc, a few drag and drops. The covered pretty much everything.
My best advice though is to read the rationales on the questions you get right and the incorrect ones. You need to understand why it is a certain way...that is something you just can't memorize. Best of luck everyone!

Did you feel that the ATI helped you a lot. I will be taking the NClex in Januaray, and our school really emphasizes the ATI.
