NCLEX-RN SATA Questions

Published

Hello Nurses and future nurses ,

I took the NCLEX today for the second time and got 33 select all that apply questions with 75 questions all in 2 hours. Not sure how to feel I thought the more SATA questions you had the better but according to some post SATA questions can be easy or hard as the same goes to the regular questions. First time I took it I had gotten 15-20 SATA with all 265 questions. Just hoping I passed this time won't get my results until Wednesday.

How many questions and SATA questions did yall get ? How much time did it take you ? Wishing everyone the best 🤗☺.

I really don't understand why NCLEX takers focus so much on how many of what type of questions they get. The posts stating that SATA questions are written both below and above passing standard are correct. Having a lot of SATA questions means absolutely nothing. Having only a few SATA questions means absolutely nothing. And you can substitute whatever other types of questions there are- drag and drop, fill in the blank, etc.

I didn't count them because I didn't want it to interfere. I swear I had at least half of them as SATA, if not more. I was more surprised to see MC. I did pass in 75, but I don't attribute it to the number of SATAs at all. What I did notice was the "feel" of the questions started getting narrower and knew it'd cut me off at 75. Not so much the difficulty but rather my perception of if I could answer it or not. Unfortunately I had no way of knowing if it was above or below the line.

Hello Rose_Queen,

Your are absolutely right I shouldn't give it that much importance since select all that apply questions are written in different levels and could mean anything. To be honest I guess I focus on it to help me feel better about myself, the more the better in my opinion. But then again in all honesty I have not met or read about anyone finishing the exam with 75 questions and having 30 or more select all that apply questions who failed.
