Hello all. Just wanted to share my experience in hope that it may help you. Failed the nclex-rn on my first attempt with 75 questions. I thought that my mind was still fresh from nursing school, so all I did was review some content for about 2 weeks. I was a nervous wreck the day of the test. I did not take my time and bombed it. I was devastated for a while. Took a month off from studying.
I decided to enroll in Kaplan on demand. Watched a few videos and told myself that there was no way I was going to watch them all. I'm just not that kind of learner. But I did hear that the videos are very helpful. Did all the qtrainers (twice) and finished the qbank. My scores were: diagnostic-66 and readiness-58. Qtrainers were from 53-64%. Finished the qbank with 64%.
I read the Kaplan rn course book from cover to cover. Read over the pharm section 3 times. Sometimes used Saunders as a reference. I read this study guide [COLOR=#003366]https://allnurses.com/attachment.php?...7&d=1310076980 about 20 times. Wrote all the labs on flashcards. Studied the notes that I took from all of the Kaplan rationales. For 3 weeks I did 100 questions a day. Read every rationale. Prayed 2-3 times a day.
The day before the test I asked the good Lord to help keep me remain calm. And he did. I had a nice breakfast, went to the gym, went to the theater to watch a film, came home and prepared a nice dinner. Read over the study guide and went to bed early.
Test day: nice breakfast, push-ups and sit-ups. Was pretty calm walking into the exam. TOOK MY TIME reading the questions and answers. Passed with 89 questions.
My advice: be dedicated to your study, eat healthy, exercise and pray.
Best of luck to all
My exam is next week so I am starting to freak out. I didn't not pass the first time. I got 163 questions and I sat there fore 5.5 hours and did not get up not even once to take a pee, water, or snack break. I just sat there with panic and feeling I was failing or that I was dumb and couldn't answer these questions. I feel that was my error in taking the test: Not feeling confident and anxious. Before the exam I almost got into a car accident:dead: because I printed the wrong PDF sheet. Drove to Office Max. Made it on time and felt already like it was bad sign.
I'm scared and anxious....of the What if?
Didn't pass in Nov. This is what I have done so far: Read all of Saundars and did all the questions at the end of the chapter. I have done about 400Q on the CD. Bought PrepU and have done 1500Q on Level 6 or 7 on each topic. I have re-done all the trainers from Kaplan expect 7 that will be friday. I have scored 70-78%. I plan on finishing the PDA book. I have looked over the study guide at least 4times. I also did Moby's questions that are in flash card about 400. Because my date is so close I was thinking maybe re-scheduling it?
Any advise, support and insight would be great! Thank you for listening to me!
Honest advice: go for it. You've prepared. Everyone(most) feels like they failed walking out of there. Read the question...over and over. Read the questions as many times as needed. There are questions where none seem right. NCLEX grades you by the best choice. Calm your yourself in the best way you can. I took a break after 75, was a good feeling. ate a snack. best of luck. let us know

Hey hey you're very welcome! The study guide has been floating around this website for some time now. People on this forum said that it helped and it helped 4 of my classmates. I made sure to do some cross referencing when using it. Good luck!
