Good afternoon everyone!
I'm planning ahead since I will be (fingers crossed) starting my nursing program in the fall, and I have been looking into apps to use alongside my study material.
Has anyone used these two apps, and if so, which do you prefer?
I'm hoping to familiarize myself with NCLEX-style questions early, not only for the NCLEX, but to help me understand the material a bit better. I feel like I get more of those lightbulb moments when I can apply what I've learned to critical-thinking type questions, but it's hard to write my own like I usually do when I make a study guide or my own review.
I'm also wondering what the rationales were like for both? I've heard a lot of good things about UWorld, but I haven't heard much on NCLEX-RN Mastery.
Thank you for your time everyone~!

Hey, Im also studying for NCLEX. I think NCLEX Mastery is great for content, but I feel like if I knew the content better then the questions would be entirly too easy. I personally perfer Uworld questions and rationals but I am using both so I can get a solid content base.

I use the NCLEX RN Mastery, and RN Mentor (free). I think the rationales for NCLEX Mastery are okay - the ones for RN Mentor are better.
I plan to get UWorld in my last semester because of the price.
Thank you for your response! I'm definitely leaning toward buying the Uworld sub as I've heard nothing but great things - I feel like it's going to be a worthy investment. I've heard some pros/cons over the NCLEX mastery app too, so I might splurge just for the heck of it, and hopefully I'll be able to learn something from it too. :)
Good luck with your studies!

Hey Jen!! Thank you for your input too! I will check out RN Mentor - I've never heard of that one before~ I am going to look into it!
I do wish Uworld wasn't so spendy - for $300, one would hope that they are purchasing a lifetime subscription, but nooooope.
I try to tell myself that it'll all pay off in the end ... haha

I've heard nothing but good things about Uworld. My school got us discount codes for Uworld, free 90 day sub and discounted longer subs (I haven't looked at the details yet). I was alreadying planning on signing up for a month or two at the end of my program so this works out great for me. We graduate in August so I'll likely activate my 90 day sub in June right around when I finish my preceptorship and have more time for studying.
I didn't bother with any prep books or services during my program but I definitely wanted a service like Uworld for NCLEX prep. Based on the cost I'd suggest holding off on anything pricey for now. Maybe just buy one of the Saunders prep books.

If you can afford U-world then thats great! I used NCLEX Mastery App and received an average of 51%( mostly because the quizes didnt count towards the overall average) but made sure to work on my weakest areas and read all the rationales and passed the NCLEX. I just took it this monday and received my results today and some questions were very similar to the NCLEX Mastery App. I got a 83% chance of passing on their final simualtion on the NCLEX simulation. So pretty accurate. Good luck!
