Hi everyone! I just want to ask if I should get the Saunder's Comprehensive book 2010 5th edition? I have the 4th edition and its published 2008. Does anyone have the latest Saunders book? Did it really help you with your Nclex? What is the difference between the two? Any advice whether I'll just stick to my Saunders 4th Ed.? I also have a LaCharity 2008 1st edition...Do you think I should get the latest edition as well? I didn't make it on my first try so I'm gonna hit the books again. Thanks and have a wonderful day. -Ciel

As far as I compare both of them... In Saunder's 5 th edition few chapters were added, explanations about new changes after April 2010 and comprehensive test is new... they just added pictures, graphs and new highlights but content is the same... I would go to Barnes and Noble, if you have this store close by, or other book store that sells nursing books and compare them... You will be surprised!

LaCharity I bough new, sorry I have no ability to comment on them.

Hi there...I think that is a good idea. I'll try other bookstores coz the one from Barnes and Noble are sealed with plastic when I checked it yesterday. Thanks for responding to my post. Have a great evening.

Hi all,

I have a quick question abt wht LPN and CNA can do?

Can a CNA take fingerstick?

According to Lacharity, CNA cannot take fingerstick.

LPN can give oral meds, but can a LPN give oral anticoagulants or narcotic.

Wht abt the IVs also?

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO IS TESTING THIS MONTH.

Thnks

Here is answer to your question:

Consider perfect world of NCLEX ... Yes you are right no fingersticks for CNA's.

Once I need it Anatomy and Physiology textbook and they opened it for me... They should have publisher's free copy for customers on their shelves.

I'm not able to open these . . . What did it say about LPNs and IVs? I'm assuming from the test questions I've encountered that all states do not allow LPNs to do IV therapy and so the test reflects that, but I was interested to know as well.

PO, SQ, IM are only one that can be delegated to LVN's.

If you still have some questions please let me know:

Hello everyone!

I finished with my test on June 4th and as I said I will come back and share some of my experiences... I had 75 questions and at 51 system asked me if I want a break but I said no... please never do that!!! Take that break and look up some of your questions if you feel like you missed some of them, with me... I had almost 3 of them about the same type of disease... I think I failed to answer that first time question (that's my analysis). I will find out my results on Tuesday... I will come back to let you know if I'm passed or not... For now I have very mixed feelings about passing. Nerve wracking exam... but I didn't rash at this time, I felt I've done everything I can. Even If I didn't pass... I will sit for another exam within 45 days...

I can't tell exact questions I had but can't emphasis how important to know your lab values and acid-base balances... some of them age related and figure out diseases... memorise them.

Most of my questions where assessment, teaching and implementations.

Some of them were who nurse will see first, some delegation questions... and meds, meds, meds... calculations are easy...

Adverse effects of meds...

Experimental questions... you can recognize them right away... you will see hard to figure out procedures or diseases... but remember Latin roots - it helped me a lot!!!

Pay attention to wording... some of them you can find very tricky... read it several times and pay attention what question is really asking you.... read all answers carefully.

And most of all good luck for all of you who are still studying!!!:hpygrp:

I need rest... for few days, just to get back together... tests are always stressful :throcomp:
