NCLEX-RN 2014...Anxiety has begun

Published

Hey everyone,

I graduated from a 15 month ABSN program in december. After graduation i took a 3 week vacation which was welllllllll needed!!! My school convinced almost everyone to enroll in the Kaplan review course ($379). We also did a week long ATI nclex review/predictor the week before graduation. I did well in nursing school but according to the ATI predictor i have 78% chance of passing the nclex-rn on 1st attempt. i didn't take it too hard because at that point everything i learned in school seemed to be a blur :wideyed: and i did not look at anything nursing related prior to taking the test.

ATI is ok i guess:yawn: we were required to take practice test throughout the program and i did fairly well...mostly level 2 i think i got a level 3 once or twice.

This past friday i bought the saunders nclex-rn review textbk (6th edition) because i read on here that its useful for content review. i plan on only using saunders and kaplan.

my question is this... how on earth do you start??? its so overwhelming especially coming from an accelerated program where we basically had exams every week!!

Where do you begin on day 1 of your nclex-rn prep?

Looking forward to any replies. Thank You!!

Hi. I feel the exact same way. Did the week long ATI review help you recall things you have forgotten? I am also thinking about doing Plan or Hurst. I feel like everything is a blur.

I did hurst and loved it. I take Nclex Jan 7, 2014. I also opened an app in my iPhone called quizlet. I also bought a Kaplan book and reviewed bits of it. I just scattered all my study material. I feel overloaded. I am so worried. Hurst was interesting though and funny!

I also had two 98% ati comp predictors before I graduated and I made 88/125 and 92/125 out of two of my six hurst test. Kaplan from CDROM on book I scored low like 64% out of 180 qs so I'm not sure how that is ranked.

60%+ is target

Kaplan 60 and up is the target range

thanks! I think I am not ready bec I hear nclex qs are unlike any other. I am scared to death. I think I have overloaded myself but I plan to still take it on Jan 7th.

Hello! Yes ATI review did help jog my memory a bit but one week wasn't enough to reinforce 15-months worth of material in my opinion. I've heard good things about hurst too. I haven't really heard anyone using ATI to study for the nclex though.

GOOD LUCK!!!!! Quizlet was helpful i used it in while in nursing school. How many weeks did you study for the exam?

How accurate is the ATI predictor?? 78% is very low but i feel like if i reaaalllly sit down and study i can pass this thing but then again its the NCLEX!!! Its not like any exam we took in school its almost like preparing to go to war.
