Nclex results on hold Brain dumping

Nursing Students NCLEX

i dont even know what to do. i took my nclex for the third time. computer shut off at 75 questions it took me an hour.i know for a fact that i passed. my test results are still on hold. when i got to the computer before the employee puts in their log in. i started writing lab values on my board, the lady was standing right next to me and didnt say a word. i read the rules i know. but i dont know how this slipped my mind. after a lot of research apparently its called brain dumping and is considered cheating. i dont even know what to do. i think this is why my exam is on hold. i wrote down 7 lab values but i didnt even get a question that required me to know lab values. also i took my nclex in a different state than the state im going to be licenced in. my licence is for Texas but i tested in California. can this be a reason for the hold as well. i have called the nursing board but no one is giving me a straight answer as to what is going on. has any one been in the same situation please help. im going crazy here

Hey stay positive. If you didn't pass this time. Take a week break and get back to studying. Use uworld. Good luck!

Can someone link me to where ncsbn states this? I never heard of it until I found my results were on hold. Also cannot find anything on NCSBN and my test center did not state

Specializes in PICU, Sedation/Radiology, PACU.

I can't find it on the current site either. It definitely used to be there. Maybe they have since changed the rule. Here's a quote from the website from a thread a few years back:

From NCSBN "You may not write on the note board until after the tutorial is complete. Any writing before or during the tutorial is considered "brain dumping" and will result in an incident report and results being placed on hold."

If done pre-test its the equivalent of creating crib notes or a cheat sheet.

I think they may have updated their rules and regulations. I didn't read anything like that when they handed me the reading materials prior to my test. At the same time, I checked NCSBN's website and here's what it says: "Writing on any materials other than the note board is strictly prohibited and will result in an incident report and results will be placed on hold."
