If your have already passed then it should be a matter of paper work, finger prints and paying the fees. I find it hard to believe that your angency can not or will not find you a new hospital option as we are in such a need here. If the don't do anything soon contact another agency.

I am in the same situation with Barbie38. I passed my NClex on June 2004 there was a lull in the application with DOS due to lack of visas at the time. Now its the same thing all over again and there has been no development since then. If my NCLEX status would expire in 2007 how can I extend it to accomodate the processing of my visa?

Hi everyone...its been so looong since I posted a thread here. I have a concern here which needs all your options and suggestions.
I have passed the NCLEX last May 2005, have been under an agency who promised us that we could fly to U.S. in 8 months.. Suddenly, the hospital who is our employer, suddenly had major problems which made our waiting..turn inot NONE...zero and nothing at all. My NCLEX which is in California needs us to be there in that state on or before the date of expiration... which is May of 2008. With the retrogression around the cornere...I don't think I can make it now...
I don't want to waste my NCLEX because of the agency's fault.. Is this true??
that the California Board of Nursing will provide a license using the employer sponsor Tax ID number.

No, the emplyer tax number cannot be used.

The NCLEX score does not expire, the application to CA BRN does. If the three year passes, you just need to submit another application to them, and pay the fees.

Simple as that. but you can not extend anything.

Thank you for the advice suzanne4. I'll submit a new application when it expires to get my status up to date with California BRN. Would they immediately know that I have taken and passed the NCLEX? Hopefully I would be able to get a visa and practice in the USA.

I got the same problem with my agency that my application has not gone forward as expected. I have submitted all the required documentation but no further communication or information has been given to me by my agency. What is difficult in this situation as well as all other nurses in this predicament is that we are held hostage by our agency when we are required to sign up a memorandum of agreement to be represented by them. But when the going gets tough we can only sit it out with no other option but to wait. Well, I guess thats life.

Sorry, but that is not true at all. A contract is a two way avenue and the agency needs to live up to what they stated that they would do in a reasonable amount of time. I have seen nurses waiting and waiting only to find out that said agency was no longer in business.

Do you know for a fact that your petition was ever submitted to USCIS? Was the visa bill paid for? How long ago did you sign with them?

i passed my nclex last june 2005 and i renewed it last april 2006 and it is valid for another 2 years all you have to do is renew your license by taking any accredited CEU provider , and one thing more look for another agency which has a tie up with bigger company in the US.

Sorry, but you do not renew the results of an NCLEX exam, you are renewing a license.

But what you are failing to understand, if they took the exam for CA, there was never a license even issued, so they cannot endorse.

You cannot renew something that you do not have.

hello.. i just wanna ask if i could take nclex exam now envethogh i dont have licencse in the philippines.. i just graduated last march 2007 and ryt now im an immigrant.. im here in virginia.. Virginia requires international gradutes of nursing to have CGFNS.. plss help me find ways to be licensed here without getting license in the phil

Please have a good read on here and the Phillipine forum, your question about not having a local license has been asked and answered a few times. If you get a license in another state the virginia board isn't too clear about endorsement so may be worth getting in touch with them and check. Some states require you to follow requirements for foreign trained nurses even for endorsement and if that means take the CGFNS exam then you have to do it. Much better to ask them first before you decide what to do.

If you are required to have the CGFNS exam for the state where you wish to work, you will need to have the NLE passed to be able to sit for that. The requirement is not waived for you.

Even if already in the US with a visa that permits you to work, that is for immigration purposes only. For licensure, you will always be considered a foreign grad and be required to meet the requirements for same even ten years from now if you wish to get endorsed to another state.

As Anna mentioned, many times you can get licensed in another state and then endorse, but you will need to check with your state directly to check on their requirements. There are also surrounding states that do not require the CGFNS exam.
