Hey guys, I finished my BSN in December (currently waiting for my ATT, CA takes forever) and we as a class were given the Kaplan review course, and after taking it, I was doing really well on the Kaplan QBank questions, and now, as time goes on, I feel like I am doing worse and worse and when I try to remediate, I feel like the rationals that Kaplan gives don't really give me the in-depth, and understandable, explanation I am looking for. Does anyone recommend anything else I can use that could supplement Kaplan with better explanation and rational? I have read about UWorld and many other books that people use, but it is really hard to decide what exactly is right for me! I feel like I am going about studying all wrong! Thanks!

If it's content you're looking for Hurst provides lectures based on content over critical. But don't sleep on UWorld they have great rationales and is in-depth but isn't catered to a structured program they just provide Qbanks w/ great rationales, and an assessment of each category. Kaplan is more focused on the structure of the actual NCLEX format, w/ their lectures I realized they teach as they go through questions. This is why they tell you to pause the video during the lecture and look up content for yourself, but Hurst does a good job breaking down each category. (BUT hurst lacks in an actual structure approach like Kaplan.) Another review is going to the NCSBN review course, their content IS VERY in-depth if you want a thoroughly refreshing, but be prepared of reliving nursing school lectures you sat through before. (This is the National Council so they provide ALMOST everything you need to pass if you use the material appropriately).
To sum it all up
Go to hurst for a good overview NCLEX CONTENT
Go to kaplan for a great approach to NCLEX format
Go to NCSBN for the most IN-DEPTH lectures for the NCLEX
PS on the go APPs you can get on your phone I suggest NCLEX mastery or Pocket Prep both provide rationales.

Hello,
I would recommend Uworld. It looked just like NCLEX and i was impressed with the rationales. The rationales were the best in my opinion because they were informative enough to refresh my memory or re-learn something. I hope this feedback helps.
