NCLEX prep for students out of nursing school over several years

Published

I am in dire need of assistance. I graduated from nursing school in 2006 and have not taken my NCLEX exam. i would like to know how I can begin studying for it. I am now weak in content as well as test taking skills. Are there any programs that will help?

I thank you for your help in advance

hi, i have graduated 3 years ago and i was toooooo worried to take the nclex. all of my siblings passed the NCLEX on their first attempt. i was too scared to fail to the point that i did not take the exam. my brother told me this: not taking the exam is just the same as you failing it. what i did was i scheduled an exam without reading/reviewing. i did this because i was too nervous and what's a better way to combat this than getting a feel of the ACTUAL exam? i know i failed ( i haven't gotten the results yet), and i know that some people will find this crazy, but at least i have faced my fears, i have gauged my knowledge and i will pass my 2nd take! =)

Man, i'm in the exact situation. my sister passed her nclex on her first attempt and since i've graduated in may i have been way to scared to take for the fear of failing. now it's FEB and my family is really turning up the pressure.:o i thought the same thing just take and and face my fears , but after pinching and saving the $$ for the test, i'm going to finally do it. my boyfriend thinks i'm nuts and has offered to pay for hurst. i believe you will pass the next go round and be a nurse. please dont give up!!!

I also graduated in 96' how were you able to sit for NCLEX after 10 years... I see all these post that indicates People taking the NCLEX after so long and even after failing more than 3X... I am dying to know how and where, I am too trying to get back to nursing but without going to nursing school all over again. Please help

Please tell me if that class is working for you. I am in the same boat as you I graduated last Nov. and I just took the Nclex Nov 18. I went up to the 205 questions and I just knew I failed. I have not seen a test like that I studied and studied and I thought that is was going good but after I didn't see the computer cut off at the 85th or so question I knew I was in big trouble. I am a good test-taker but this one had me running for cover. I cant begin to explain how I feel right now. I don't know which review course to take. So if Kaplan is working let know so I could resit some time in Jan

To original poster, just out of curiousity, what job did you take up after nursing school without your RN license?

If anyone else knows, is it possible to become a nursing assistant without taking certification test in California? I failed the nclex twice, and Im broke to take it a third time. It's a whopping $350 to retake the nclex. I was wondering if I could become a nursing assistant with just a bachelors in nursing degree. I dont want to take a test just to become a CNA, but if i have to, I will because I really need the money. Please and Thank you!

This is very encouraging. I have been out of nursing school for 4 yrs and have takeN the NCLEX twice, only to fail them both times. I am back on top of things and will be taking the NCLEX for the 3rd time in Oct. Kepp me in your prayers because I WILL DO THIS!

I graduated in 2002 as well. Failed 3 times already .
