NCLEX predictor scores :-\

Published

So I will be taking my NCLEX tomorrow, I'm FREAKING out... I suddenly feel like an idiot, and like I'm not going to do well. I did well all though nursing school. Heck, I was inducted to Sigma Theta Tau and now I feel like I'm going to fail my NCLEX... on the practice testing I've done Kaplan (just the book not the full program), Saunders, and ATI testing, I've gotten 60-70%

I'm looking for a little confidence here in that my scores on the practice aren't THAT bad. I know ultimatly the test scores don't really mean squat, but it'd make me feel a little better to think maybe I'll pass based on them.

You will pass based upon your knowledge of the material and how the test goes. The test is known for being unpredictable. Predictor scores are known for going either way. Good luck.

I know I don't know why I'm putting SUCH a emphasis on a number but for whatever reason it'd make me feel like I'm OK to know my scores aren't horrible

They say 60%-70% is a good indicator. Everyone I've talked to who has passed was in that range. I also know people who we're not in that range and failed. That's just my personal experience of 15 or so people, though. Good luck!

60%+ = Go take the test

50% = You might fail ... don't risk it =)

if it's ATI I believe that 60-70 is the range where they are pretty confident you will pass...They do it by levels, 1 2 and 3 based on your score

Your school should have given you information along with your score that shows where you fall on that spectrum

The first time I took it I got a 78 and was told that gave me a 99% chance of passing NCLEX on the first try

Since my test is just 14 hours away I dont have a choice anymore buttt, I guess I feel ok, my testing is 60-80% and I understand WHY i missed the questions I miss... does that make sense?

It sounds like you are in good shape-don't stress out too much over it. Majority of my class scored in the low-to-mid-60's on the ATI and all have passed the NCLEX so far (that I know of)

The test is 14 hours away? Drink a nice glass of wine, soak in a warm bubble bath and read a book. Go to bed early, and wake up in time to have a nice breakfast. Do NOT open those books between now and tommorow-it's not going to help at this point, you either know it or you don't (and it sounds like you know it!)

Good luck tommorow and let us know how it goes!
