I wanted to include my experience of the NCLEX PN because I was not sure what it would be like after taking it. I scheduled my NCLEX for June 8th at 8am. I arrived 30 mins before which is highly recommended and not bringing many things in especially your phone! I believe reading the website for the expectations and rules prepared me because the test proctors were very strict. They even said bringing in your phone could invalidate your test results to another RN student who had brought her phone. We have lockers to put in our keys, watches, wallet, and anything else. It amazed me how strict the rules were on things I would never think of. Of course you will get a run through on all the rules and expectations. FOLLOW THEM, because they can invalidate your test results and get you banned from taking the test.
My computer shut off on question 85 and immediately I felt as if I failed. I ran home to keep refreshing the pearson vue website for the quick results. But you have to wait 48hrs from taking the test to be able to pay for the quick results. By the first 24hrs my state board of nursing (RHODE ISLAND) had posted on the check list Item: Pass NCLEX Status: Completed. My license was still pending but it stated I had passed the NCLEX from my application checklist. Still not being official results I felt like I failed. So finally 48hrs later I paid the quick results which were about $8 and it stated I passed.
Lastly, the pearson vue trick could be a myth or not because it allowed me to go all the way up to the Credit card information for registration of a new NCLEX test. I did not submit the credit card information so not sure about how the trick works. And that has been my experience !
